Student Accessiblity and Supports
The MFT Program, Department of Counseling, Family Therapy and Higher Education office, classrooms, students' work space, and faculty offices are located in the Reich College of Education (RCOE). The RCOE building includes single stall restrooms to provide accessibility and privacy for people with diverse gender expressions and identities, and diverse abilties. App State has designated single stall restrooms throughout campus.
The RCOE building is ADA compliant is located adjacent to accessible Appalcart public transportation. App State offers assistive technology services for students registered with the Office of Disability Resources (ODR). Students may request accommodations for diverse abilities through ORD.
We encourage students to engage with the multiple resources the university offers to support success.
Students are facing increased food insecurity. We believe no student should go hungry. In an effort to support students experiencing food insecurity at Appalachian State University, there are 4 campus food pantries available. The Grant Dean Food Pantry is located in the James Center on the first floor of the RCOE. There are food pantries located in East Hall, the Student Access Office in DD Dougherty, and Garwood Hall, which are part of the APP State Food Hub. Any student may access these resources.
