The MFT Program at Appalachian State University has been accredited for the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy COAMFTE since 1998.  We admit students annualy to begin during the fall semester.  The shortest amount of time the program can be completed is 2 years and the longest allotted time to complete the program is 7 years.

Where are they now? 

Graduates of the MFT program are employed throughout the United States. They serve in private practice, non-profit agencies, residential treatment programs, intensive in-home programs, in-school therapy programs.  Alumni have been admitted into Ph.D. programs including: Florida State, Kansas State, St. Louis University, Virginia Tech, East Carolina Universty, and University of North Carolina- Charlotte.
