Trauma-Informed Care Workshop  

Janelle Johnson, MA, LMFT, founder of Bridges Family Life Center, PLLC,  will present on Trauma-Informed Care for couples and families.  

This workshop will focus on learning the importance of trauma-informed care for couples and families, discussing cultural humility in this kind of work, and reviewing the research links between relational trauma and perinatal mental health. Mental health providers who work with relationships are encouraged to attend. 

Learning Objectives  

  • Define Relational Trauma
  • Learn the importance of Trauma-Informed Care for couples and families 
  • Discuss cultural humility in Trauma- Informed Care
  • Review research linking relational trauma and perinatal mental health
  • Learn assessment methods for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) 
  • Practice family therapy interventions for relational trauma

CEU Information 

4.25 CEU credits are available for licensed providers. 

The Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 3001. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.


The Rivers Street parking deck is $10 a day for visitors.  The facility is located on Rivers Street between Katherine Harper Hall and Garwood Hall.
